An on-site career centre was established with a major manufacturing company in order to support 100+ staff whilst the company was being acquired. Some 25 staff transferred to the new company under TUPE, whilst other opportunities were available with the new company under a non-TUPE agreement. We worked with the company to provide support to staff who had to evaluate their options in line with these arrangements.
The project team decided that an on-site Career Centre was the most effective and economic way to manage the support. The career centre was set up with 48 hours notice.
Engineering, IT, HR and buyers were all supported in addition to main board directors. Within 3 months of commencing the programme 88% of the displaced staff had found alternative employment.
CW Consulting provided outplacement support with a major Financial Services organisation over a period of 2 years where over 2000 staff were supported. We delivered a range of outplacement support programmes at some 90 locations. This was a highly complex project which, operationally, was very challenging. However, both the sponsor organisation and the former employees were delighted with the support provided.
Services delivered included both Senior 1:1 Programmes and Group Seminars which included Job Search, Self Employment, Pre-Retirement.
CW Consulting was selected to provide outplacement support and project management services during a site closure. The closure affected over 350 employees at all levels and functions across the business. We liaised with relevant local recruitment agencies, potential employers for the redundant workforce, government agencies – e.g. Job Centre Plus, Benefits Agency, the County Council and the agencies where funding could be obtained for various services. Local funding was successfully secured.
Support services included:
- Job Search seminars
- Pre-Retirement Seminars

- Senior 1:1 Executive Programmes
CW Consulting provided outplacement support for a large chemical company over a 4 year period. All levels of staff were supported, totalling 420, which included production operatives, supervisors, line managers, senior managers and directors of the Group. Project sizes ranged from assisting 2 or 3 people on Senior 1:1 programmes, through to assisting 160+ at any one time.
The success was measured over a 6 month period for each project which resulted in a 93% settlement rate.
CW Consulting provided outplacement services following an announcement that c600 staff were to be made redundant. CW Consulting responded within 36 hours to establish an on-site Career Resource Centre which provided:
- 1:1 Pick up Counselling
- Personal Planning and Career Decision Making Programmes
- Co-ordination of Seminars: Self Employment / Job Search / Pre-Retirement

The communication strategy involved arranging short “Awareness Seminars” to the employees and ensuring all employees received an information flyer regarding the support services available to them. Within the first four weeks over 350 people undertook the whole outplacement programme. All activity was carefully monitored enabling accurate management reports to be fed back to the HR Team, with whom our Project Manager worked closely.
CW Consulting were tasked with Improving Performance of sales staff by agreeing better procedures and practices for setting targets, reviewing results, motivating good sales staff and tackling poor performers.
The Project Team focused on improvement measurements, one to one feedback and coaching skills, plus techniques on motivating and gaining behavioural change in others. The outcome was that results improved including the number of visits and level of sales achieved. In addition the quality of sales improved with sales staff providing clearer advice. This led to greater customer retention and better procedures for delivery of sales. Overall, the project raised and clarified everybody’s performance expectations.
CW Consulting were engaged to work with senior staff following a de-merger that had seen sales and productivity drop. The new Board considered that senior staff were de-motivated following the merger and were unclear as to their new roles and responsibilities.
The CW Consulting project team provided the opportunity for 1:1 sessions and also group work. Tangibles outcomes achieved, including addressing personal issues, were that the new company soon benefited from greater commitment from senior staff, there was greater retention of key people who felt valued and had a more creative outlook in their business planning, and also improved management of junior staff.
CW Consulting was tasked with providing 1:1 and group work that centred on improving performance following internal restructuring. The project team initially provided 1:1 support to individuals to help develop their own performance and to agree their key priorities and objectives.
The project team then provided group workshops that focused on supporting managers in developing their approaches to improving performance within the broader corporate framework. This emphasised the importance of communication and ensuring that all company staff understand what they have to do to contribute to company-wide performance.
